Yumiko Tatsumoto
CREATORS BANK
Born in Kyoto in 1978.
My grandfather was a master of kyo-yuzen (a kind of painting for kimono) and my father was an artist of Japanese-style painting. Fascinated by harmony of colors created with brushes, I started to draw pictures in my childhood. However, I began to have an inferiority complex about the fact that my father was an artist, so I kept away from the world of arts for some time.
I started to create works again in 2007 after meeting Chihiro Furukawa, a photographer. Now I draw pictures of ordinary life in unordinary life or scenery in my mind, with a tablet instead of painting blushes.
