Misuzu Itateyama
Born in Nara Prefecture in 1974. Finished the Master Course of System Life Sciences, Kyushu University. Resident in Fukuoka City.
I have been familiar with Japanese culture including Buddhist art and ukiyoe since I was a child. I draw pictures of Buddha and people such as oiran (high-class courtesan) and samurai in and before the Edo era, on biological themes of regeneration and fusion. People are extremely impressed with my elegant black lines of Chinese ink which are outstanding among colors of acrylic paints and powdered mineral pigments.
I am active abroad as well as at home in various fields such as one-man exhibitions, interior decoration, and commercial illustrations.
